The detailed design for the Warburton Community Recreation Precinct is complete and the tender to build stage one of the precinct is scheduled to be issued in the new year.

Cr Jim Child said it was another significant step completed in the project for the community to celebrate, following Council’s decision to approve a planning permit for stage one in August.

“The Warburton community has been the driving force behind this project,” Cr Child said.

“The Warburton Sports Centre Committee and Warburton Advancement League played a strong role in contributing to the community consultation process and working with Council to ensure the community’s needs were met when it came to providing a regional water play attraction and playspace.

“I’d like to thank both the committee and advancement league for contributing funding to the playspace.”

Council is continuing to advocate for funding for the second stage.
