The ultimate street party is back for 2018– and back on its ‘island home’.

Celebrate GC has been part of the Gold Coast cultural landscape for six years, bringing festival vibes with live music, local street food and family fun.

Mayor Tom Tate said the annual event was the perfect way to celebrate the city’s outdoor lifestyle.

“This year’s event will highlight the laid-back feel of one of the city’s most iconic locations,” he said.

“Everyone loves an afternoon village street party, especially when it’s free. The best way to arrive is light rail to ensure there are no parking hassles.’’

Folk pop Aussie duo, Busby Marou, headlines the event with Caravana Sun the support act along with local and interstate artists Katie Who, Tully John and Liza-Jane, ELSKA, Karuah, Izzy Day, and Old Man Friday.

The family-friendly event features a silent disco, interactive arts and crafts by HOTA ArtLab, skateboard school, roller-derby demos by the East Coast Derby Dolls, beauty bar, local street food, Castle + Cubby play village for kids and a makers’ markets, curated by the Design Collective.

Getting there Patrons can ride the G:Link to Surfers Paradise station and cross Chevron Island bridge. Celebrate GC is presented by City of Gold Coast and supported by 7 News Gold Coast, 90.9 Sea FM, Blank GC, Castle + Cubby, The Design Collective and HOTA.
