Ararat Chef Sarah Ramsey and her staff have been busily putting the finishing touches on the café, which officially commences trading on Monday, October 8.
Ms Ramsey was the successful applicant following the tender process earlier this year and has since been working closely with staff at the Ararat Rural City Council in preparation of the opening of the business.
Born and bred in Ararat, Ms Ramsey has been in the hospitality industry for 20 years and will continue with her catering business Sarah’s Kitchen as well Foragers Café.
“We are thrilled to be opening the doors to the café,” Ms Ramsey said.
“I am so proud of the team. Everyone has been working hard to get things ready to go.
“We certainly have an emphasis on locally sourced produce and being environmentally friendly wherever possible.”
The opening of Foragers Café is the final milestone of the multi-million dollar Ararat Arts Precinct, which was officially opened in August.
Ms Ramsey said the café would open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on weekends. There will be both inside and outside dining options available.
All varieties of coffee will be available including hot chocolates, a range of teas, iced chocolates, iced coffees, milkshakes, soft drink and fresh juices. Meals, cakes and slices will also be available.
“We have had a barista from Seven Seeds Specialty Coffee Roaster come up to train the team up and they are very excited to start serving,” Ms Ramsey said.
“I look forward to welcoming customers from Monday. Pop in and say hi.”
Foragers Café is located at 82 Vincent Street, Ararat. You can follow the business on Facebook and Instagram.
