Weekend Warriors Clean Up Graffiti

Join the fight against graffiti and become a Graffiti Warrior to make a real difference to the appearance of our local community – Let’s Love Where We Live by taking part in Graffiti Removal Day on Sunday 21 October 2018.

Along with the Graffiti Warriors, Moree Plains Shire Council will join forces with the NSW Government, Rotary Down Under, Scouts Australia NSW, Girl Guides NSW & ACT and the Australian Air Force Cadets and sponsors – Dulux, Selleys and Graffiti Removal Australia to run the campaign to highlight the problem of graffiti vandalism and encourage people to get involved in the removal and prevention of graffiti.

Event organiser, Council’s Environment and Compliance Manager Dane Graham said Graffiti Removal Day provides a great opportunity for individuals, community groups, sporting clubs, businesses and other organisations to join the fight against graffiti and make a real difference to the appearance of our local community.

Meet at the Moree Tourist Information Centre on Sunday, 21 October 2018 at 8.45am for 9am start.  Anyone over the age of 12 with the ability to clean off graffiti can volunteer to participate in Graffiti Removal Day. Afterward, volunteers will enjoy a barbeque lunch.

“All the volunteers will be provided with training, graffiti removal equipment and protective gear, and afterward, we get together to admire our work and have a barbeque lunch,” he said.

Graffiti is a serious problem across New South Wales and costs communities millions of dollars each year.

Governments, businesses and volunteer organisations are doing their bit, however we need your help in the fight against graffiti.

People can register or suggest a clean-up site by completing a form at www.graffitiremovalday.org.au or contacting Council on 6757 3245.
