Children have been celebrating family through art via a ‘wall of families’ with individual works connecting into 3D towers.
The project is one of many activities organised by Connected Beginnings, a Federal Government initiative with a dedicated support team in Tennant Creek.
Director of Connected Beginnings Sabine Wedemeyer said the program supports the integration of early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support services with schools in Tennant Creek, so that children are well prepared for school.
Connected Beginnings works to support:
Indigenous children from birth to school commencement age; andIndigenous pregnant women, mothers and families with Indigenous children up to school commencement age."While Connected Beginnings is about improving outcomes for Indigenous children, non-Indigenous families may also benefit when they access the services,” said Sabine.
The display is on until the end of October.
