Media Release  Graffiti Removal Day 2018

For immediate release

9 October 2018

Strathfield Council is partnering with Graffiti Removal Day on Sunday 21 October 2018! In support of the day, Council is encouraging locals across NSW to Love Where We Live by volunteering in the removal and prevention of graffiti.

Graffiti vandalism costs local businesses, households, NSW Government and local councils millions of dollars each year. Instead, this money can be invested in building and prospering our communities.

“Last year across NSW over 1,800volunteers removed more than 30,050m2 of graffiti from nearly 500 sites. We hope this year will be even bigger and better,” Graffiti Removal Day Chairman Bob Aitken said.

Free cleaning material, paint, safety equipment and training on how to safely remove graffiti will be provided for volunteers.

To register to volunteer for Graffiti Removal Day or suggest a clean-up site, complete a form at www.graffitiremovalday.org.au.
