Fire Hazards

Council’s Fire Hazard Abatement Program aims to control fire hazards on public and privately owned land. Each year, the Council  encourage all owners to ensure their property does not pose a risk to others.

Whilst material on the ground may not burn at present, we would like to remind property owners and occupiers of the need to ensure that flammable and combustible material is removed before it dries out and becomes a threat to the surrounding area.

To reduce the danger which could arise from growth on a property, Council advises owners and occupiers to keep the land clear from undergrowth until the end of March 2019.

Each spring Council’s Fire Abatement Officers will conduct inspections of properties within the municipality.
