The City of Ballarat Occasional Child Care program in Market Street is moving to a purpose-built centre at the redeveloped Girrabanya site.

It will allow the City of Ballarat to offer more flexible child care options, including long day care and occasional care.

The new Girrabanya site will become a one-stop shop for families, including:

A refurbished centre including a new kindergarten room to accommodate 33 children An overall increase of 22 long-day-care places Rehousing of occasional care services now located in Market Street Upgraded foyer, meeting space and kitchen

It will also be located close to maternal and child health services.

The redeveloped centre will be a best practice child care model that provides much more flexible options to families.

The $1.25 million upgrade funded from the Victorian Government Children’s Capital Program is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

This current public notification relates to advertising the intent to offer the property for sale.

It is not a sale process. Council will consider any submissions to this current public notification before determining the next course of action.
