Fairfield City Council will be hosting two informative and educational events for the local business community to help celebrate Small Business Month in NSW.

With Western Sydney on the cusp of a major economic boom led by the creation of the Aerotropolis at Badgery’s Creek, now is the perfect time to learn how to ensure your business can compete globally and offer goods and services to a broader market.

Be inspired at the Fairfield After 5 Business Networking event at 5pm on Wednesday 17 October, at Fairfield RSL Club.

The keynote speaker is Sue Ismiel. Sue is the founder of Nads Hair Removal. She will talk about how she started her business and positioned it for the success it has achieved today.

Learn how you can grow your business at our Innovation and Growth business breakfast at Cabra-Vale Diggers Club on Thursday, 25 October at 7am.

Representatives from the CSIRO will present on how innovation can lead to growth and Jobs NSW will discuss what export opportunities are available for businesses.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said there are more than 15,000 local businesses in Fairfield City. They employ approximately 70,000 people and generate more than $7.66 billion in gross regional product

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy,” Mayor Carbone said.

“Western Sydney is growing rapidly, particularly its economy. With the new Aerotropolis on the way, it will soon be Australia’s biggest hub of trade and industry so it is important to position your business to take full advantage.

“We want to see our local economy thrive and our local residents given employment options close to home so that they can spend more time with their families.”

The two events are being held with the support of the NSW Department of Industry. They are free, with refreshments provided. Bookings are essential
