Correction to Heritage story

Published on 15 October 2018

Media reports that HERITAGE SA is "dismayed" with a Burnside Council panel's decision to approve plans for a modern, two-storey house overlooking Toorak Gardens' memorial avenue of trees are incorrect.

The statement was attributed to “Heritage SA president Deborah Morgan”. Deborah Morgan is the President of the National Trust.

Heritage South Australia were consulted on this planning application and responded in writing (in part):

"… that the revised (approved) design for 16 Prescott Terrace, Toorak Gardens still does not adversely affect the heritage values of the Soldiers Memorial Avenue of Honour along Prescott Terrace. The (revised) design for the dwelling is still clear of trees of State heritage value and therefore the place is unaffected."
