Families in Eurobodalla are invited to celebrate Children’s Week with a Fun Day Picnic at the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens on Wednesday 24October.
The free event will include fun activities for children such as dancing with DJ Matt Brown, guided nature walks, face painting, a 3Bs obstacle course, craft, storytime and a local networking market.
Council’s Children’s Services Coordinator Louise Hatton it was the fifth year the team had hosted the event.
“We’d love to see lots of families, long day care centres, pre-schools and family day care educators bring along their children aged under five to help us celebrate,” she said.
“Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood and is observed in Australia during the fourth week in October every year.”
The picnic will be held 10am-12pm at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens. Families are encouraged to bring along picnic blankets, hats, a healthy lunch and water.
This year’s Children’s Week theme is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 12: "Children’s views and opinions are respected. They have the right to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child and the right to be heard."
