East Gippsland Shire Council’s will host events across the shire during National Children’s Week, including at the Bairnsdale Library and Paynesville Customer Service Centre.
Council is supporting the annual celebration, this year being held from October 19-28, giving children and their families an opportunity to get involved in a variety of activities.
This year’s Children’s Week theme is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: Article 12. Children have the right to say what they think should happen and have their opinions taken into account.
A number of organisations, community groups and businesses are holding events and activities across East Gippsland to celebrate Children's Week and residents are encouraged to get involved and join in the celebrations.
