The City of Armadale's Annual Positive Ageing Seniors Festival kicks off again in November with a particularly interesting and diverse program of events to celebrate our community's young-at-heart.
This year some of the highlights include ink painting, kayaking, a complimentary Sri Lankan meal hosted by United in Diversity, a social morning tea for people living with dementia/memory loss and lots of activities at the Armadale and Kelmscott libraries.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP is encouraging all those young-at-heart seniors to attend some of the celebrations and try something new.
“There's plenty to do, see and participate in, during this year’s Positive Ageing Seniors Festival and I encourage our seniors to take advantage of some of the events programmed.
“Grab a friend and join one of the pole walking groups operating from Roleystone, Armadale or Kelmscott. Pole walking is very popular with our residents and is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
“You can get in touch with the City's past at History House Museum – with a tactile tour available for small groups and families, including people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s on Tuesday 13 November.
“Or make a day of it and jump on a guided bus tour through the hills and discover the rich history of the district”, said Mayor Zelones.
The Positive Ageing Seniors Festival 2018 calendar of events booklet is available on the City's website, or at the City Administration Office, the City’s libraries, and various key locations. For further information, phone 9394 5000.
