The local School Chaplaincy program will be the beneficiary of this year’s Pittsworth Mayoral Prayer Breakfast on Thursday October 25 starting 6am at the Pittsworth Golf Club.

This is the 4th year of the Pittsworth Mayoral Prayer Breakfast and remains a key event on the annual calendar for the whole community.

Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Paul Antonio said the Mayoral Prayer Breakfast not only provides a reason as a community to come together, to catch up, network and listen to a good keynote speaker; it also raises funds for a very worthy cause in the community.

“Guest speaker Peter James, Chief Executive Officer of Scripture Union of Queensland will share stories of his amazing life and provide insights about his frontline work in disaster and critical incident response.

“We can learn so much about building resilience in a community from a person who has been there, Mayor Antonio said.

“This year’s beneficiary of the Mayoral Prayer Breakfast, the Pittsworth Chaplaincy, provides a valuable service to and for our youth offering support and care, sometimes at a child’s lowest point.

“School chaplains work with our children to build their confidence and self-worth and show them they are important and that someone does care.

“Chaplains help students find a better way to deal with issues ranging from family breakdown and loneliness to drug abuse, stress and anxiety.

“Funds raised will be used to assist with the ongoing delivery of the program within the school and instrumental in helping to offer help and support to the young students as they grow and struggle to find their place in life,” Mayor Cr Antonio said.

Tickets are $25 adult and $12 for a child. Breakfast commences at 6.00am and finishes at 8.00am. Venue Pittsworth Golf Club. Book tickets online at https://www.trybooking.com/XCUR or contact customer service on 131 872.
