Omeo and district youngsters will have plenty to keep them engaged and entertained during National Children’s Week, with events planned at the East Gippsland Shire Council Omeo Customer Service Centre.
Council’s free Omeo events include:
Rhymetime – sessions last for about 30 minutes in which parents will learn rhymes, actions and activities to assist in their child’s literacy development. Date: Monday, October 22. Time: 10.30-11am. Ages: 0-2 years. Storytime with Dorothy the Dinosaur – a special Storytime including songs, activities and a visit from Dorothy the Dinosaur. Date: Wednesday, October 24. Time: 11.45am-12.30pm. Ages: 0-5 years. Garden Craft Activity Session – listen to stories, play games, win prizes and make a craft for your garden at this after school session. Date: Wednesday, October 24. Time: 3.45-4.45pm. Ages: 5-12 years. Bookings essential.
Other High Country events include Reading Circles at Omeo Schools as Hubs (Monday), Reading Circles at Swifts Creek P-12 School Library (Tuesday) and Swifts Creek Rhymetime with Tracey Killeen (Thursday).
