East Gippsland Shire Council needs your help to review and update the Twin Rivers District Community Plan.
Council is working in partnership with the communities of the Twin Rivers district - Nicholson, Johnsonville, Swan Reach, Tambo Upper, Bumberrah and surrounds - and key agencies to understand how the communities across the district work, live, play and connect. The next workshop will be held on Monday, October 29.
Council’s Director Community Strategy Kate Nelson said The One Place One Plan project is a different way of working together to plan and make decisions as a district.
“There were a number of achievements from the Twin Rivers Community Plan 2012–17 that will be built on for the next plan,” Ms Nelson said.
“Council has been working with members of the Twin Rivers district to understand how the communities across the district work, live, play and connect. This was captured in a well-attended workshop held in August which identified the environmental, built, cultural, social, human and economic assets of the district.”
Community members are invited to attend the next workshop and tell Council what information has been missed; what else needs to be included; and what questions to ask in the community survey being released in November.
The workshop is being held from 5.30-8pm on Monday, October 29 in the Supper Room at Johnsonville Hall. Registrations to attend the event can be made by contacting Council on (03) 5153 9500 and asking to speak to Eleni McIlroy or online via the Your Say East Gippsland website.
The One Place, One Plan project is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development Building Better Regions Fund Community Investment Stream and is being trialed in Cann River district, Mountain Rivers (Errinundra to Snowy) district and Twin Rivers.
