The Local Government NSW Conference is the annual policy making event for NSW Councils. It is the key event of the local government year where Councillors come together to share ideas and debate issues that shape the industry group’s policy, as well as determining the focus for advocating to other levels of government.
The conference is currently underway in Albury. Councillors McAndrew, Coleman and Ring are representing Lithgow Council and voting on policy setting motions.
At this morning’s business session, there was debate on Lithgow Council’s conference motion. The motion asks for the State government to address the inadequate funding provided to comply with new Crown Land management planning requirements and the impact of further cost shifting. The motion was wholeheartedly endorsed by the conference delegates and LG NSW will now lobby the State Government on this important issue.
Councillors McAndrew, Coleman and Ring are actively involved in the today’s debate on a wide range of local government issues on behalf of the Lithgow community.
