Community grants for a Better Bayswater
City of Bayswater 22 Oct 2018

A total of $9,250 in funding has been allocated to three community groups in the first round of the City of Bayswater’s Better Bayswater Grant.

The Maylands Historical and Peninsula Association, Buddha’s Light International Association of WA Inc. and Tiny Sparks WA have received funding of up to equal their own input, enabling the groups to host a range of important community projects over the next six months.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull congratulated the groups for their contribution towards making the City a better place to live, work and play.

“We believe that creating a brighter future for Bayswater requires collaboration between both the City and its community members, which is why we’re providing the financial support needed to make this happen.

“As the heart of the inner east, the City boasts a range of worthy community groups and individuals and these grants will allow them to transform their positive ideas into realities.

“This round of funding has created an avenue for our community to host a premature birth awareness event in November, a photographic exhibition celebrating Maylands from November to January and an all-inclusive March celebration of the Buddhist New Year.

“The next round of grant funding will open in March 2019, and I strongly encourage anyone with an idea to create positive change in our City to apply.”
