A self-guided tour of Albany’s heritage sites will provide residents and visitors the opportunity to learn about Albany’s Anzac legacy.
Developed by the City of Albany in partnership with Princess Royal Fortress and Albany History Collection, the map explores 17 significant sites across the city.
Princess Royal Fortress Curator David Theodore said the map provided a unique insight into Albany’s lesser-known history.
“In addition to the National Anzac Centre and Princess Royal Fortress, the map also includes locations such as Lone Pine Grove, The Rocks and the original Avenue of Honour on Middleton Road,” Mr Theodore said.
“Albany is incredibly rich in history and we wanted to create a resource which would allow people to explore, discover and connect with our heritage.”
The Anzac Albany Heritage Sites map is available from Albany Visitor Centre, the National Anzac Centre and Albany History Collection. Additional information and a web version of the map will be available soon at www.nationalanzaccentre.com.au.
