To celebrate Children’s Week this year, Blue Mountains City Council has partnered with two community organisations to provide a Family Fun Day.
Council, in partnership with the Mountains Outreach Community Service (MOCS) and the Aboriginal Cultural Resource Centre (ACRC), will host the event at Noble Park, Bullaburra on Sunday October 28.
There will be a jumping castle, face painting, feature creatures and a FREE sausage sizzle.
Other local services will support the day including Blue Mountains Family Day Care which will have a stall, with information for families about the service, and a play space.
Tea, coffee and muffins will also be available for purchase.
“We invite you to the Children’s Week Family Fun Day,” Cr Greenhill said.
“Within the Blue Mountains, we celebrate children as our future, recognising that it takes a community to raise a child. As a community, we want to create the best environment for our children to flourish.”
Children’s Week – which runs from October 19 to 28 – is a national celebration of the rights of children, their talents and citizenship.
Thousands of children and their families around the country are involved in activities and events during Children’s Week through the participation of schools, playgroups, childcare, kindergartens, cultural groups, libraries, departments and community groups.
The Children’s Week Family Fun Day is on at the Noble Street Park, Bullaburra, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm on Sunday, October 28. If raining, the event will be moved to Lawson Public School. Call MOCS on 4758 6811 or ACRC on 4782 6569 for more information.
