The City of Wanneroo’s annual Dog’s Breakfast event was the place to be for Perth’s pampered pooches on Sunday.

Thousands of dog-loving City residents and visitors, along with their furry friends, packed into Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex for the pawesome, popular family-friendly event.

Much loved fur-babies enjoyed washing and grooming services, furlicious food treats and free vet checks, before strutting their stuff on the dogwalk in competitions like Australia’s Next Top Dog Model, My Dog’s Got Talent and Date My Dog.

More than 30 exhibitors showcased their goods and services including dog training, doggy day care, animal kinesiology and much more.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said she was pleased to see so many people enjoying the day at Kingsway, despite the questionable weather forecast.

“This year’s Dog’s Breakfast was a fantastic, fur-friendly, family day out, Mayor Roberts said.

“My German Shepherds were on their best behaviour as they socialised with all the other breeds, little and large, including Toto, a gorgeous Pomeranian belonging to our event MC Jerrie Demasi.

“It was great to see thousands of people enjoying all of the free activities, checking out what local dog friendly businesses have to offer, but most of all, it was wonderful to see people enjoying time with their fur babies in a 100 per cent dog friendly environment.”

Dog’s Breakfast wasn’t just about the fur babies in the family though; children were entertained with free activities including a bouncy castle, face painting and a pooch-friendly photo booth.

The City of Wanneroo’s Dog’s Breakfast was sponsored by Channel 9 and The Wanneroo Times.

“We appreciate our sponsors’ support for this annual event,” Mayor Roberts said.
