The Big Head Art Project was inspired by the artistic efforts of 16 children who took part in the Art Explosion October school holiday program at the Rockingham Arts Centre.
Facilitated by artists Jacq Chorlton and Carol Clitheroe, children aged eight to 12 use their papier mache skills to create a number of large, wearable and colourful heads.
Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged the community to visit the libraries to see the big heads up close.
"With support from two fantastic artists in Jacq Chorlton and Carol Clitheroe, the children who took part in the Art Explosion October school holiday program have created some fantastic pieces of art," Mayor Sammels said.
"Visitors to both the Rockingham Central Library and the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre will be greeted by the artwork as they search the shelves for their favourite books."
The big heads will be on display at the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre from 5–16 November while the Rockingham Central Library exhibition will run from 19–30 November.
