The Midland Town Hall was a site of celebration last night as twelve lucky winners shared in more than $100,000 of prizes at the City of Swan’s Rates Prize Presentation.
The City holds the prize presentation each year to reward a randomly-selected group of lucky ratepayers for paying their rates in full and on time.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said it was fantastic to be a part of the joy at last night’s event.
“The City’s Rates Prize Presentation is a wonderful way to reward our ratepayers for paying their rates early,” he said.
“By paying your rates on time, ratepayers are not only contributing to making the City a better place to live, but ensuring it can deliver essential services and infrastructure to the community all year round.
“I’d like to congratulate all of this year’s lucky winners, and thank the local businesses who supplied our prizes.”
This year, two lucky winners drove away with brand new cars from Goldy Holden in Midland.
Kay-Ann and Mark Lewis won a new Holden Equinox SUV valued at $27,000, while Rowland and Mandy Braganza took home a $21,000 Holden Astra.
Three other lucky winners will soon be packing for a holiday thanks to Flight Centre in Midland.
Geoffrey Keegan won a holiday to New York, while Gilbert and Sylvia Baatard won a California getaway and Patrick Joyce and Leanne Smith won an Australian holiday – each valued at $9,000.
