Ballarat (City) 24 Oct 2018

The City of Ballarat received a State Government grant for $100,000 earlier this year to build our own Marveloo.

A Marveloo is a transportable adult changing place, with a roof tracking hoist, an adult size change table and a fully accessible toilet.

Prior to this, the City of Ballarat has been hiring a Marveloo from Maroondah City Council to service AFL football games at Mars Stadium and the Begonia Festival.

The City of Ballarat Marveloo will now be able to be used for many more events and will have a semi-permanent position at both the Lake Wendouree North Gardens and Mars Stadium.

The Marveloo is designed to cater for the needs of people with a profound disability and, because it is transportable, will improve inclusion for many people at events in and around Ballarat.

Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said the Marveloo was a wonderful addition to the City of Ballarat’s infrastructure assets.

“The Marveloo will allow people with a disability to be able to take part in a much wider range of events in the Ballarat region, confident they will be able to access a top standard facility that can accommodate their needs,” Cr McIntosh said.
