The realignment project for the western oval at Officer Recreation Reserve has moved ahead with Cardinia Shire Council recently awarding a tender for construction work.
The contracted works include oval reshaping and resurfacing, and installing subsurface drainage and irrigation, and perimeter fencing.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Councillor Collin Ross said Council worked very closely with the Officer Recreation Reserve Committee of Management throughout the design phase of this facility, seeking and valuing the Committee’s input into the design of the facilities and construction timelines.
“Council is pleased that oval realignment works will soon start at Officer Recreation Reserve to improve the oval and playing surface, bringing better grounds to our community sporting groups.
The Officer Recreation Reserve oval realignment project is jointly funded by Council’s five-year Capital Works Program, the Officer Development Contributions Fund, and a Victorian Government grant through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Community Sports Infrastructure Program.
