The City of Armadale has awarded $114,950 through its Annual Contributions program for local projects and initiatives.
This year 12 organisations including the Armadale Robotics Club, Constable Care program, the Royal Life Saving Society and Forrestdale Primary School P & C all received funding.
“The City is committed to supporting local groups and organisations in delivering services to our community,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP.
“This year’s Annual Contributions will assist in programs that provide a range of services including community safety, community participation in arts programs, and the development of programs to assist young people in our community.
“There were a few interesting applications with new initiatives for the community received this year from the Catch Music Inc and EdConnect Australia.”
The City granted Catch Music Inc $6,250 to engage with the community and promote social inclusion through music. The group will focus on people living with a disability, youth, older persons, Indigenous, music enthusiasts and socially isolated people in the community to come together to play music.
EdConnect Australia received an $8,000 grant to work with volunteers to work with students in local primary and secondary schools that need extra help through an increase and skills training with volunteers.
“In addition the City supported the Forrestdale Primary School 40th Anniversary Fair with $5,000 and continues to support Bedfordale Connect, Crossways Community Service and the Little Green Steps program with a combined $24,500 in grants,” said Mayor Zelones.
