Spook-tacular Halloween fun in Boroondara
City of Boroondara 26 Oct 2018

It’s the spookiest time of the year!

With Halloween just around the corner, local shopping centres will be getting into the ‘spirit’ on Wednesday 31 October by hosting a variety of fun activities and events for the whole family.

What treats (or tricks!) will you find around the corner?

Burwood Village

4pm to 5.30pm

Put on your scariest costume and take the kids trick or treating as part of Burwood Village’s Halloween Street Party!

If you’re feeling brave, take a tour through Prohibition Food and Wine’s haunted house… for spook-tactular fun!

There will also be a $100 dinner voucher up for grabs for the person who receives the most Instagram likes for their #spookyvillage photo. See Burwood Village for competition details.

Please note Melton Avenue will be closed to traffic until 6pm.

Kew Junction

All day

Hit Kew Junction for the strip’s family friendly on-street trick or treating.

From 3.30pm to 5.30pm, meet your favourite characters, including Skye from Paw Patrol, Cat Boy from PJ Mask, Shine from Shimmer & Shine, Wonder Woman, Thor and many other Halloween characters.

See which of the 62 stores across Kew Junction will be participating in the fun by downloading the Halloween map.

Greythorn Central

4pm to 9pm

It’s a spooky affair at Balwyn North’s Greythorn Central, where the Doncaster Road strip will be transformed with activities and show rides for kids both big and small.

Over 50 Greythorn businesses will be participating in the event which will offer local ghouls and gals free trick-or-treat lollies, a photo booth, balloon animals and lots of fun giveaways.

From 7.30pm, Greythorn Community Hub will run a special screening of Monsters University.

Glenferrie

3.30pm to 5pm

‘X’ marks the spot on Glenferrie Road, where 400 kilos of lollies will be given away to trick-or-treaters.

Keep a close eye out for two crossbones out the front of stores- this is the secret sign to indicate participating businesses on the day!

Pick up a special Treasure Hunt flyer on Mary Street and solve ten puzzling riddles… and go in the draw to win a dinner to the value of $200 at Bay City Burrito.

(Psstt… if you’re having trouble solving the riddles, you might be able to find the answers inside 10 Jack-O-Lanterns hidden along shops on Glenferrie Road)

For the big kids, local bars, hotels and restaurants will be serving up blood-sucking Halloween fun, where you’re invited to:

Put on your scariest costume and go in the draw for best-dressed prizes at Nevermind Bar Hit the dance floor and whip out your ‘thriller’ dance moves at Beer DeLuxe Order a round of free drinks (over 18’s only) when you arrive with your spookily dressed crew at Bay City Burrito Catch a scary movie at Lido Cinemas between 25 and 26 October Leave your broomsticks and witches hats at Hawthorn Hotel’s doors for a Wizards and Witchcraft party.

With so many events on offer, which shopping strip will you haunt this Halloween?
