Funding for Destination Queenscliff and the Hub project

Council has been working closely with the Hon. Jaala Pulford MP, Victorian Minister for Regional Development, and the Hon. Lisa Neville MP in her capacity as Member for Bellarine, to progress a range of activities related to funding for the Hub project and Destination Queenscliff.

“Council is committed to finalising these matters in a timeframe requested by Minister Pulford,” said Borough of Queenscliffe Mayor, Cr Susan Salter.

Council has received three letters from Minister Pulford, the most recent received this week, and has sought necessary legal advice in order to respond appropriately to complex issues identified in the correspondence.

Given the requirements of the Local Government Act, the earliest opportunity for Council to consider the terms and conditions of the funding agreement as specified in Minister Pulford’s correspondence was at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on Thursday 26 October 2018.

Council has also been working with the Hon. Sarah Henderson MP, Federal Member for Corangamite, regarding additional community consultation on Council’s Destination Queenscliff project.
