Blue Mountains City Council was honoured in three categories, including Customer Service Team of the Year, at the 2018 National Local Government Customer Service Awards.
Senior Customer Service Adviser Damien Robinson was awarded Customer Service Team Leader of the Year and Customer Service Officer Kerry Smith was also highly commended in the Customer Service Individual Award category.
“These awards reflect Council’s commitment to high quality customer service for our community and customers, connecting them with information, staff and the services they need,” Mayor Mark Greenhill said. “I congratulate the entire BMCC Customer Service Team.
“The National Local Government Customer Service Network understands the importance of recognising, rewarding and showcasing the achievements of customer service professionals. We also recognise the high quality work of our passionate and dedicated staff.”
Annually, Council’s Customer Contact Centre receives more than 80,000 calls and process almost 60,000 transactions.
The 2018 Community Survey results indicated a high level of community satisfaction with Council’s performance. The overall satisfaction rating was higher than the average satisfaction score for all NSW councils.
