Owners of heritage listed properties in the Clare & Gilbert Valleys have access to a $25,000 funding pool if they undertake restoration or conservation work on their properties.
The Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council has announced the funding for distribution to owners of State and Local Heritage Places through a competitive grant process.
A list of properties of local and State heritage significance is available with the guidelines and application form below. The grants could be used for restoration and conservation work such as painting and repairs, or to engage design specialists.
Property owners need to apply for a grant before works have begun and work already completed cannot be considered.
The minimum value of work to be undertaken is $2,000, with eligible projects able to seek up to 50% of the total cost of heritage works to a maximum of $5,000.
It is anticipated that it will enable heritage building owners to make improvements that they would not necessarily make without assistance. This enhances the longevity of our important built heritage.
It is vital for applicants to discuss their proposal with Council’s planning officers prior to submitting them, in order to determine eligibility.Contact Council on 8842 6400 or email [email protected] for further information.
