City of Ballarat Council has re-elected Cr Samantha McIntosh as Mayor for the third consecutive year at a special meeting this evening.
Cr Jim Rinaldi has been elected Deputy Mayor.
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1989, Council met tonight to consider the election and term of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
“I am both honoured and excited to be re-elected Mayor. I thank my councillor colleagues for the confidence they have shown in me and I look forward to working with them and our community to achieve our shared vision for the city,” Cr McIntosh said.
“I look forward to taking up that challenge once again and continuing to serve this Council and the people of Ballarat as Mayor in 2019.”
“The task of advancing our city’s interests is never finished, and there is still much more to do.”
No other items were discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was held at the Ballarat Town Hall Council Chambers at 6pm.
