A notoriously dangerous intersection at Mt Rowan will be upgraded in the New Year, following an announcement today that the State Government will provide $1 million in funding to the project, with $500,000 from the City of Ballarat.
Ballarat Mayor, Cr Samantha McIntosh, says the funding is welcome and will mean work to build a roundabout at the Kennedys Road-Gillies Road intersection at Mt Rowan can begin in February.
“This project is a priority for Council and for residents in the Mt Rowan area. This is a high-risk intersection; the roundabout we’ll build – with State Government support - will significantly improve safety and traffic flow through the area”.
The project is expected to take six months to build.
