News in Brief - Positive Ageing Sessions in November

Throughout the year the City of Armadale hosts a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library and other venues to engage older members of the community.

The workshops are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, current activities and useful information particularly relevant for older people. The next two sessions in the Positive Ageing Sessions series are:

Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre

Wednesday 7 November, 1.30 - 2.30pm Armadale Library

Did you know that the new Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre is going to be more than just a pool?

Learn about the new facility, the centre's new geothermal bore, the state of the art gym and all the programs and spaces catering especially for our older community.

The Persistent Pain Program

Wednesday 7 October, 3 - 4pm Armadale Library

One in five Australians live with chronic pain. Untreated this can lead to significant disability.

A representative from Arche Health will discuss the Persistent Pain Program 'Turning Pain into Gain'.

This is a community based multidisciplinary initiative that offers specialised allied health support for the assessment and treatment of persistent pain.
