Free sound and video studio arrives at Whitlam Library

Fairfield City residents and library members now have access to a free quality digital studio to turn their creative imaginations into quality audio and video content.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone has officially opened Studio 2166, a permanent audio and video recording studio at Whitlam Library Cabramatta.
“Fairfield City Council has a proud history of supporting the creative arts and our City is renowned for extraordinary creative talent,” Mayor Carbone said.
“The studio will give residents the opportunity to learn new skills and realise their creative dreams.
“I’m excited to see Studio 2166 being opened. It will put our City at the forefront of supporting the creative aspirations of our residents.
“This recording studio gives locals the opportunity to collaborate and bring their imagination to life. I’m excited to see what comes out of the studio.”
The key features of the studio are:
A sound-proof facility consisting of a sound booth for audio recording and a green wall for the production of films and videos Audio production equipment and software for producing quality recordings Film production equipment and software for producing quality videos/films.Studio 2166 is funded by a Library Council of NSW grant and reflects the evolving role of libraries from being storehouses of knowledge to becoming centres for creative activity.
Also launched today were two complementary initiatives to Studio 2166 called the Workary and lab.LX.
