Wednesday, November 21 – Sunday, November 25, 2018 In celebrating the opening of ‘The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ (APT9) at QAGOMA, we will be projecting exhibiting artist Monira Al Qadiri’s ‘DIVER’ onto the William Jolly Bridge from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 November 2018 from 5.30-10pm daily. APT9 will feature over 80 artists and groups from over 30 countries, who challenge conventional definitions of contemporary art by asking us to consider its relationship to shifting social structures across the region. The exhibition will explore a number of never-before-seen installations, paintings, sculptures, photographs and video from emerging and senior artists, together with leading works from Indigenous communities and artists. For APT9, Monira Al Qadiri, has created a multi-channel video installation inside a large aquarium-like cube structure containing projections of synchronized swimmers dancing. ‘The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ is on at QAGOMA from 24 November 2018 to 28 April 2019.
