The winners of the 2018 Casey Cardinia Business Awards (CCBA) have been announced, with a local building company bringing home the top gong this year.
Officer-based business SJD Homes was named the 2018 Casey Cardinia Business of the Year, with the 10 category award winners revealed at a Gala Dinner held on Friday 26 October 2018 at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
The CCBA are a partnership between the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire Council, held each year to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contribution of businesses and organisations across the region.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett said it was great to come together each year to celebrate and recognise local businesses and community leaders through the awards program.
“I am always excited by the diversity and immense talent that exists within the Casey Cardinia business community,” Cr Ablett said.
“These awards highlight the unique and truly outstanding work occurring daily across our region and celebrate the contribution local businesses make to our local economy and the future success of the Casey Cardinia region.
“I would like to congratulate all our award finalists and winners; you should all be very proud of your achievements and recognition being among the best in business in our communities.”
Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Collin Ross also congratulated all the award recipients, particularly Cardinia Shire business SJD Homes for taking out the top honour.
“SJD Homes are an exemplary business delivering quality homes across the growing south-east region, with strong plans to achieve future growth and significant involvement with the local community, making them a deserving winner,” Cr Ross said.
“This year, 84 applications were received and judged by a panel of experts who looked for markers of innovation, environmental sustainability, business planning, accessibility and enthusiasm, to identify all our worthy finalists and winners.
“It is gratifying to see these awards so strongly supported by local business and community leaders. Thank you all for your continued efforts to grow and support our region and your contribution to the success of small business in Casey and Cardinia.”
