Construction of the new playspace at Queens Park Healesville has commenced.
The playspace will include new playground equipment, with surrounding areas landscaped to include formal and informal seating, and paths connecting the playspace to the existing paths.
Fencing has gone up at the site, and Council anticipates the works will be completed by the end of 2019.
Council encourages families to explore playspaces at McKenzie Reserve in Yarra Glen, Coldstream Recreation Reserve, Healesville Railway Station and Melba Park in Lilydale while Queens Park is closed, as well as the water play parks in Seville and at Lillydale Lake.
The Queens Park Roll Play bike park is also open.
More details about the works will be made available in coming weeks.
