Rushworth Service Centre changes

Campaspe Shire Council will introduce changes to the operating days of the Rushworth Customer Service Centre to better meet community need.

Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said changes were made to the operating days and hours of the centre in March 2017, moving from opening five days per week, to three days per week.

“Since that time an ongoing review of all service centres has been underway to monitor numbers visiting each site,” Cr Weston said.

“With online transactions increasing, the number of customer visits to all our five service centres are reducing.”

At Rushworth, customer numbers have not increased across the current three days of opening, with around only 11 people per day needing to attend the centre.

“At Tongala, where the centre moved from five days per week to two days per week, daily numbers have increased, consolidating visits into the opening days,” Cr Weston said.

“By putting our staff resources where they are needed, we can better respond to the changing needs and preferences of our community, now and into the future.”

The new operating days of the Rushworth Customer Service Centre will be:

Tuesday:        8.30am to 4.30pm (closed between 12 noon and 1pm)

Friday:             8.30am to 4.30pm (closed between 12 noon and 1pm)

The change will take effect from Friday, 4 January 2019.

“This will see the Rushworth Customer Service Centre opening after the Christmas break on Wednesday, 2 January and Friday, 4 January, with the change starting the following week,” Cr Weston said.

Customers continue to have a number of methods to contact council, by phone on 1300 666 535 or via email to [email protected] as well as through customer service centres.

Payments can also be made by a number of methods, with council’s website offering a secure payment method for rates, debtor payments, animal renewal registrations and application fees. Further services are planned to be available online, such as lodging a service request, early in the New Year.

Council will closely monitor the change to service centre opening days over the coming six months to ensure it meets the changing patterns of customer requirements.

Library opening days and hours will not change.
