West Hobart improvement works - road closures

Published on 02 November 2018

The City is continuing improvement works in West Hobart with a number of road closures starting from Monday 5 November.

Crews will be conducting stormwater works on Allison Street between Lansdowne Crescent and Blackwood Avenue. The road will be closed at the northern side of Allison Street for traffic heading from Lansdowne Crescent towards Blackwood Avenue from 7 am to 4 pm daily, Monday to Friday, from 5 November 2018 until 29 November 2018.

Line-marking will begin on Hill Street from Monday 5 November and will take approximately two weeks to complete. There will be some minor traffic delays, but all lanes will remain open during the works.

Overlay works to the roadway at the Hill Street, Lansdowne Crescent and Pine Street intersection will be conducted on Sunday 11 November (7 am – 7 pm), Monday 12 November (7 am – 6 pm) and Tuesday 13 November (7 am – 6 pm).

Road closures will be in place at the corner of Pine and Lochner Streets and Petty Street and Lansdowne Crescent. Local residents will still be able to access their properties. Traffic on Hill Street will be restricted to a single lane through the work zone.

Parking at the West Hobart Amcal Chemist and Smolt Kitchen will be accessible via Lochner Street onto Pine Street at all times.

The Metro bus route will be diverted along Petty Street for the duration of the works and bus stops on Lansdowne Crescent near the intersection will be closed.
