November is a busy month here on the Coffs Coast as we take our place on the world stage hosting not only the Tag World Cup (1-4 November) but also the final stage of the 2018 FIA World Rally Championship (15-18 November).

The economic benefits to the Coffs Coast from these major sporting events are significant. Not only that, our treasured corner of the world will be broadcast globally during these events.

If you are here competing in or spectating at any of these fantastic events over the next few weeks I urge you to take the time to explore our beautiful Coffs Coast while you are here.

Partnership Renewed

I was thrilled to announce this week that C.ex Group have continued their partnership as naming rights sponsor of C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

It is fantastic that the Stadium will carry the name of a local, Coffs-grown enterprise that plays such an integral role in the Coffs Coast community. We look forward to building on this partnership over the next five years.

Highway Bypass – Have Your Say

This week Andrew Fraser made false claims that Council has been unwilling to assist Roads and Maritime Services in providing information to the community to facilitate the decision-making process on the proposed plans for the Coffs Harbour Bypass.

In fact Council have had project information available in our Customer Service Centre since mid-October. This week Council finally received further display material from Roads and Maritime Services. We immediately displayed these drawings to help inform the community feedback on the project.

I strongly encourage everyone in the Coffs Harbour LGA to have their say on the proposed highway bypass.

It is important that you voice your concerns during this consultation period to ensure that the Government has the opportunity to deliver the highway that our community deserves.

Roads and Maritime Services have extended the consultation period for the concept design plans until Friday, November 30.
