A ceremonial reception was held in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall on Monday 5 November 2018 at 5.00 pm to welcome newly elected and re-elected Aldermen.
The elected members are made up of a Lord Mayor and 11 Aldermen, and represent the residents and businesses of Hobart. The Aldermen are the decision-making and policy-setting arm of the Council, whose powers, responsibilities and duties are set out in the Local Government Act 1993.
Anna Reynolds and Helen Burnet have been elected Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart respectively.
Marti Zucco, Jeff Briscoe, Dr Peter Sexton, Damon Thomas, Tanya Denison and Bill Harvey have returned to office. The first-time elected representatives in the new Council are Simon Behrakis, Mike Dutta, Holly Ewin and Zelinda Sherlock.
