The City of Swan will be starting brick paving replacement works at the Meadow Street and Swan Street roundabout in Guildford.
These works will be conducted over four nights, from Monday, November 19 to Thursday, November 22 between the hours of 8pm and 5am each night.
The works may be extended in the event of inclement weather, contractor availability or unforeseen conditions.
To accommodate the works and to ensure safety, traffic management restrictions will be in place during this time. This will include the full closure of the Meadow Street and Swan Street roundabout during the night works on all approaches.
Detours will be in place via Benara Road, Lord Street, James Street, East Street, Great Eastern Highway, Morrison Road, Great Northern Highway and Reid Highway.
During night works, delays are to be expected. Residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes. At the completion of each night-shift, the roundabout will be re-opened to traffic as normal.
Accessing/Egressing Guildford (west of the roundabout):
Access/egress to the area west of the roundabout will be maintained via James Street only and the left in, left out at the Meadow Street and Stirling Street intersection. A U-turn will be permitted for vehicles shortly after exiting Stirling Street on Meadow Street to enable transit southbound.
Accessing/Egressing Guildford (east of the roundabout):
Access/egress to the area east of the roundabout (including businesses on Swan Street) will be maintained via the Terrace Road and Swan Street roundabout only.
Accessing/Egressing Caversham and Lilac Hill (north of the roundabout):
Access/egress to the area north of the roundabout will be maintained via the Benara Road and West Swan Road roundabout only.
Please refer to the attached diagrams showing the proposed road closures and detours in place during the night works. Every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience caused by these works, however, the full closure of the Meadow Street and Swan Street roundabout is necessary to safely and efficiently complete the works.
