Wednesday, November 14 – Sunday, November 18, 2018 In celebration of the Caltex Socceroos’ first game on home soils since the FIFA World Cup, playing against Korea Republic, we will be projecting ‘Bush Medicine Leaves’ by Margaret Scobie onto the William Jolly Bridge from Wednesday 14th to 18th November 2018. Margaret Scobie is an Anmatyerre woman from the Utopia region in Central Australia. Her paining ‘Bush Medicine Leaves’ represents particular leaves from medicinal plant species, which are gathered by the Aboriginal women from Utopia in Central Australia. The leaves are boiled, kangaroo resin added and mixed into a paste, which is used by Aboriginal people as a bush medicine to aid a variety of illnesses. Her vibrant green and gold works have a sense of energy and movement that encapsulate the dynamism and momentum of the soccer game and the lively atmosphere of the spirited crowd. Caltex Socceroos V Korea Republic is on Saturday 17th November at Suncorp Stadium.
