Sunday, December 16, 2018, 3 – 7pm Loosen those limbs and widen your eyes as Aerial Angels takes you on an acrobatic odyssey, flipping, twirling and tumbling through the air. Designed especially for kids, Aerial Angels will be running an Elf Academy on the Little Stanley Street Lawn from 3-7pm during 14-23 December. Classes are free to join and include daring activities that will make your child a qualified elf, fit for a stint in Santa’s workshop. There’s hula-hooping – ideal training for wriggling up and down tricky chimneys in the dead of night, juggling – perfect for when you have too many presents to carry with just two hands, tight-rope walking – to hone your skills for balancing along steep rooftops with Santa, and aerial trapeze –  best used when leaping from sleigh to house to deliver all presents by morning. Or if running away with the elves isn’t written in your stars, you can also enjoy compelling street performances from the experts themselves. Roaming acrobatic performances are held throughout the afternoon and evening. If your kids aren’t quite at acrobat age, bring them along to Holly Jolly Kid’s craft and dance classes. There, they can enjoy ornament-making with a special Parkland twist, plus learn delightful choreography from Queensland Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker – dance, stretch and prance around in your Christmas finery. Ornament making is on from 3-7pm, while the Queensland Ballet dance classes are from 3-6.30pm. Bookings are not required for any Holly Jolly Kids activities.
