City of Ballarat has welcomed the announcement by the State Opposition that it will spend $1.8 million to build a new hockey facility in Ballarat should it be elected to governnment at the 24 November poll.
Ballarat Mayor, Cr Samantha McIntosh says City of Ballarat will work with all relevant groups to find an appropriate venue for the hockey facility in the event of a Liberal National Party Coalition win.
"City of Ballarat is committed to improving sporting facilities for residents across our municipality; we know that organised sporting activity brings significant health and social benefits, it's pleasing to see that the State Opposition recognises this too and has committed to this investment in hockey".
