One-way for West Avenue

West Avenue, near Armidale Regional Hospital, will become a one-way street from the start of December, with traffic travelling east from Butler Street to Markham Street.

The change follows a petition from residents and subsequent consultation with the residents and businesses in August and September.

Letters were sent to all adjacent residents, businesses and other organisations, including the Armidale Regional Hospital and the adjacent preschool. The proposal received unanimous support from respondents.

West Avenue is a narrow street and making the road one way will improve safety for road users, residents and pedestrians.
