As part of festivities being held across the nation to celebrate International Day of People with Disability, Council is hosting a dinner dance in Kyneton on Saturday 1 December.

International Day of People with Disability on 3 December is a United Nations-sanctioned day that promotes an understanding of people with disability and encourages support for their dignity, rights and wellbeing.

Mayor, Cr Jennifer Anderson said the dance was a wonderful annual event which celebrated the contributions and achievements of people living with disabilities in the shire.

“It’s also about raising awareness and helping to break down barriers facing people with a disability,” Cr Anderson said.

The dinner dance will be held at Kyneton Bowling Club on Saturday 1 December, starting at 6pm.

Tickets include a two-course meal, and the event features a band and a vintage photo booth.

Tickets are $15, carers attend for free.

"Everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy an evening of entertainment, sharing stories, meeting new people and of course dancing!” Cr Anderson said.
