Community groups in the Strathbogie Shire will have the opportunity to attend a free workshop to gain a deeper understanding of how the energy market works and reduce their outgoing energy costs.

Strathbogie Shire Council has drawn from its networks and has asked utilities and energy specialists, CarbonetiX, to bring their inside knowledge to spend time with residents in a tailored community group workshop which will cover:

What makes up your energy bill? A breakdown of how the market works and what you’re being billed for How to select the best energy deal; where to go to compare deals, the truth about ‘discounted’ energy deals, tariffs, key tips and tricks Energy efficiency – where your community group likely uses its energy, behaviour changes to reduce energy, how to select the best tariff based on your energy use profile Case studies and a review of your community groups’ energy bills

The workshop will take place on Thursday, 22 November, from 6- 8.30pm at Strathbogie Shire Council in the Conference Room, via the Bury Street entrance.
