Councillor leave during state election

Cr Clarke Martin is taking a leave of absence from Bayside City Council after nominating as an independent candidate for the District of Sandringham in the State election on 24 November.

Cr Martin is committed to ensuring that his activities as a candidate are clearly separated from his role as a councillor between the date of his nomination and the State election.

As such he will follow guidelines adopted by Council in April 2018 governing the candidacy of Councillors in state and federal elections.

Cr Martin will not attend council meetings during his candidacy.
