Just a few more floats are needed to ensure the 2018 Christmas Pageant goes ahead.
In previous years the traditional event has faced cancellation due to low float entries, but Mayor Darriea Turley said she hoped this year would be different.
"We're so close to having enough floats to lock the pageant in, we just need a few more entrants to come forward," she said.
"It would be so special if we could hold this year's event for kids and families without worrying them with the prospect of cancellation.
"So if you're a bit undecided, or you just haven't got around to lodging your entry, please put your name down as soon as possible so we can get preparations underway."
The pageant will be followed by an after-party in Sturt Park, which will feature food and drink stalls, along with children's entertainment and activities.
It will also coincide with the Perfect Light Film Festival, which will see 12 films screened from 8pm in the Park. The selection of short films will be judged live by a panel of celebrity judges for a share in $2250 in cash prizes.
Those wishing to nominate a float for the Pageant or reserve a stall at the after-party can do so at https://bit.ly/2QIxgLD, with nominations to close on 23 November. Please note stalls are for not-for-profit groups only.
The pageant is scheduled to begin at 6pm on 1 December 2018, with the after-party in Sturt Park to follow at 6.30pm.
